How we can help

Therapeutic support
Adults with mental illness often struggle, not only with chemical imbalance, but also with excessive amounts of life stress and/or past trauma that make it difficult to get well. My goal is to support you in processing through these struggles so you can move forward and learn from these challenges but not continue to let them control your life or reduce your wellbeing.

Medication Management
Adults with mental illness may struggle with chemical imbalances that can be caused by heredity, trauma, life stress and other factors. These chemical alterations may require medication to stabilize their levels in order to reduce symptom occurrence. I can assist with assessment of your needs and prescribe the appropriate medication in the correct dose to assist you.

Eating Healthy, drinking water & exercise
We’re taught that eating well helps us look and feel our physical best. What we’re not always told is that good nutrition significantly affects our mental health, as well. A healthy, well-balanced diet can help us think clearly, feel alert and improve concentration and attention. Conversely, an inadequate diet can lead to fatigue, impaired decision-making, and can slow down reaction time. In fact, a poor diet can actually aggravate, and may even lead to, stress and depression and other mental health concerns so eating healthfully is essential for wellness. We will focus on and discuss healthy practices to ensure you can feel your best.

Getting outside for your own Nature therapy
When you walk through the woods, sit on a park bench, listen to birds chirp, spend time at the beach, or watch the sunset, you likely experience a sense of peace, relaxation, calm and other positive feelings due to the strong connection between mental health and engagement with our natural world. Nature therapy, or green therapy, is the practice of being in nature to improve psychological and physiological health & help people cope with stress to improve their quality of life through nature exposure like meeting outdoors, rather than in the office, at a local park, in a wooded area, or by a body of water. It can also be practiced in an office setting by observing nature through a window, bringing plants inside, and/or using metaphors or visualization techniques.

Sleeping well
Quality sleep is crucial for good mental health, but sleep issues can worsen mental health conditions, and mental health problems can lead to poor sleep. Adhering to sleep hygiene practices can improve sleep quality and mental well-being. Mental health impacts thoughts, feelings, and actions and influences our ability to handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. WE will review best healthy options to ensure your sleep is stable so you can be well.

Meditation & Mindfulness
Adults with mental illness can be reluctant to seek treatment due to fear of taking medications and/or sharing their life concerns. My goal is to help you move forward with as little discomfort and as little or as much support as is necessary. We can focus on making simple life changes to assist and if you are in need of chemical balance but are reluctant to take medications, I can offer some alternatives to help you get well.
