Nicole obtained a BA in Psychology in 1997 and since that time, has been practicing in the mental health field in a variety of roles and settings. Her career began at The Providence Center as a group home case manager. After practicing in this role for several years, while obtaining a graduate certification in Forensic Services, she transferred to a multidisciplinary treatment team and worked as a case manager there while completing nursing school. She then transitioned to administration, managing a group home until completing a nursing degree. She then moved to another team, Continuing Treatment, to work as a psychiatric nurse, for the next 7 years under the supervision of James K. Sullivan, MD. During that time she obtained her BSN and then transferred to Butler Hospital to work as a Assistant Nurse Manager on a General Treatment unit for 2 years until promoted to Nurse Manager of the same unit. At that time she was also attending the University of Virginia in pursuit of a MSN in Nursing (PMH-NP). After completion of this degree, she began private practice with Sullivan & Associates and obtained a position in the community on a new multidisciplinary team as their full time prescriber. She later obtained Level I Herbal Certification to support holistic and herbal needs of patients enabling a more integrative understanding of options to support patients emotional and physical needs.
